SEACAMP 2009 Information

EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER AT SEACAMP: 305-872-2331
1300 Big Pine Ave.
We will be leaving from North parking lot of the school at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29th. This means you and your child should arrive NO LATER than 4:45. This will be important so that you can hear any last minute instructions and we can get the bus packed. Please do not arrive too early!! The teachers will not arrive before 4:30 and they need some time to get organized before the loading process begins. There will be nothing for you to do prior to 4:45.

All luggage MUST be placed in the luggage compartment of the bus. Each child is to bring only ONE suitcase. Anything that is to be kept on the bus must be in a “non-wheeled” backpack or duffel type bag. Students may bring pillows, books, cards, and handheld games (games may only be used if the sound can be turned off.) Any game with a rating other than “E” is not allowed. Any music deemed inappropriate by the teachers will result in confiscation of the IPOD or MP3 until the conclusion of the trip. Please be aware that teachers and chaperones are not responsible for lost or broken items. The bus can get rather cool. Please have your child dress in layers for the ride to SeaCamp.

Children will receive a light breakfast on the bus. We will stop for lunch. Children are responsible for bringing a sack lunch and drink! We will also provide a light snack on the ride home. Children are responsible for having money to purchase dinner on the way home. We will be stopping at a rest area that will have several fast food vendors.

Children will be allowed to call home. PLEASE do not specify a certain time for a phone call with your child, as it may not be possible for them to call at that time. We suggest purchasing a phone card and having your child practice using it before the trip. Teachers will keep cell phones and make them available to your child at the specified calling times. The phones will need to be placed in a labeled ZipLoc bag.

While we do not want to become rule bound, certain rules and regulations will be in effect on the bus and at SeaCamp. Other rules will be put into effect as necessary. The rules set up by the camp staff are to be followed by students, teachers, and chaperones. Chaperones are to be treated with respect and obeyed by the students. Students who are unable to cooperate and follow the rules will be asked to leave and will be picked up at the parents’ expense. We expect excellent behavior. We expect this because of the pride we share in representing St. Luke’s Lutheran School, and above all because we are the children of God!

We ask that you keep all of us in your prayers as we prepare and as we travel.
